In this special edition of Must Reads, Dr. Alyce McKenzie and Dr. Wes Allen interview their former colleague, Dr. John C. Holbert, Lois Craddock Perkins Professor Emeritus of Homiletics. He stopped by while in town to receive the Perkins Distinguished Alumni Award. They discuss several of his books, such as Preaching the Old Testament, Telling the Whole Story, Holy Root Holy Branches, Preaching Job, and his novel King Saul. We learn about Dr. Holbert's career, what he's been up to since retiring from Perkins in 2012, and Dr. Holbert's current contributions to the Perkins Center for Preaching Excellence.
