Must Reads: Episode 35 with Sunggu Yang, featuring "Arts and Preaching"

Dr. Allen sat down with Dr. Sunggu Yang to discuss his recent book, Arts and Preaching: A Handbook for Practice, Vol. 1. In this interview, they discussed that due to a decreasing attention span, there is an increasing need for the incorporation of the arts into one’s sermons to engage one’s senses and reach one’s soul. Dr. Yang explains that this volume includes the voices of five preachers who address how to include five types of art into sermons: painting, architecture, fashion, film, and theatre. This work builds upon Yang’s previous book, Arts and Preaching: An Aesthetic Homiletic for the Twenty-First Century.
